I am honored to have been selected to lead this year's campaign for United Way of Central Washington.  And, I am blessed to have a dedicated team of volunteers to help make this year's effort successful.  Terry Abeyta, next year's Campaign Chair, is serving a duel role overseeing Major Accounts and the Professional Group.  John and Monica Colgan are chairing our Pillars Campaign and are making arrangements for our October 1st Pillars Thank You Party.Mike Broadhead, Cabinet Ambassador, has recruited Scott Wagner and Alan Cottle to work with our Top 10 group this year.  In addition, Mike Dooley will chair our New Accounts Division.

I'm also fortunate to have Dave Dion, Elaine Beraza, and Joe Falk leading cabinet groups.  Division Chair's include: Jeff Louman, Tony Klein, Sue Ford, Russ Myers, Rod Matson, Jack Irion, Becky Scholl, Colleen Williams, Linda Dixon, Craig Mendenhall, Ryan Beckett, Margaret Ruiz-Smart, Tom Robert, Wes Morris, Dave Rankin, Todd Leinbach, Jeff Smith and Katie gaudino, heading Kittitas County efforts.

Joel Pearson will lead Loaned Executive recruitment and Pete Bansmer will provide a one-day training session on August 18th to prepare these important volunteers.

Finally, I would like to recognize Ken Messer for his leadership to craft a new, and I might add, High Energy marketing plan. His vision, "wegive it. we get it." will draw attention and understanding of how inclusive and important our annual campaign is to our valley.

- Day of Caring 2008
The 2008 Day of Caring planning is underway!  The Kick-Off will be held Thursday, September 4th at the Yakima Family YMCA's Jewett Center.  Great projects this year include putting together kits to help fire victims, fixing a porch and fence so that a legally blind, elderly woman can continue to live on her own safely with her dogs, provide lunch and a program for senior citizens, and so many more.  There are also many At-Work Drive opportunities this year.  If you or your workplace are interested in participating in a project, please email us, and we will send you information!
